July Update - Kenzi

Wow! I can't believe July is over and I will be starting back to work in just a week. It's going to be tough to leave Kenzi after being with her for five and half months. I know she'll love The Children's Academy just like her big sister so that makes it a little easier.
Kenzi is now 5 months old and we took her for a weight check on the 24th. She was 12 lbs (double her birth weight) so we finally got the green light to start cereal. The first day she did fairly well with the few bites she had and even grabbed the spoon to feed herself. But after she figured out rice cereal isn't that great, she started spitting it out. We tried oat cereal a few days ago and she seems to like that a lot better.
Kylar was a good help as always. Not only does she feed Kenzi, but she also changes her diaper now on her own (just once without my knowing).
Kenzi is very grabby! She'll grab anything and everything she can...toys, cups, plates, food, hair! She almost pulled a big frame off the wall at a wedding shower we went to yesterday. And most everything goes to her mouth too.
Grammy (Adam's mom) came a few weeks ago to visit the girls and she took some cute pictures of the girls. I just love this picture of Kenzi mesmerized with the waterfall soother.
I have to put this on here because her expression is just so funny. Kylar always loved Adam to swing her in her carseat. Well, he tried it with Kenzi about a month ago and she didn't like it so much!
Update: Since these pictures, Kenzi has started to like it and actually laughs now when Daddy swings her!
Kenzi has just started in the jumper. She doesn't do a whole lot of jumping quite yet but she's catching on. The first few months of her life she absolutely hated the swing. She finally has started to like it. You can tell in this picture below how much she's really starting to fill out.

July Update - Kylar

Kylar has been busy this month with school, gymanstics, and soccer. When I ask her if she'd rather do gym or soccer, she replies..."Gym and soccer!" So I guess we'll keep her in both. I never thought a 3-year-old's schedule could be so demanding. :) I'm still debating whether to do the Soccer Tots class (which she's doing now) again in the fall or sign her up for a soccer league.
Partners in crime! Kylar and Emily have been taking gymastics together since last summer and they are definitely two of a kind. I always hear Coach Amy say "Kylar and Emily...sit down please" or "Pay attention, Emily and Kylar." They've even had to be separated a few times. Although they sometimes get in trouble, they're so cute together!

Working on bringing her foot up to her knee on each step. They've also worked on walking backwards on the beam. Kylar can now walk across the beam all by herself with no problems or fear. Soccer class with the boys -- Matthew, Will, and Tyler. They all love Coach Blake and he is so good with the kids. During this drill, they had to "run" through five hoops and then shoot the ball. A little agility work...

Nothing like a bear crawl race.

Lining up to race. I love how Kylar looks like she's sizing up the competition. It's so funny how Kylar kicks...she winds up way too much. We're working with her on it and she has improved.

Nice shot, Tyler! Right through the legs of Coach Blake!

Kylar does have a hard time not using her hands. Here she is trying to take Tyler's ball away. Maybe she'll be a goalkeeper!
