Kenzi's 1st Birthday

It's hard to believe that a year has passed by since Kenzi was born. It seems like just yesterday we were making the trip to the hospital twice a day to visit Kenzi in NICU. That was the longest and hardest two weeks. As you can see from her then and now photos, a lot has changed in a year. At birth she was 6 lbs and at 4 months just 10 lbs. She is now 18 lbs 13 oz (15th percentile) and 28.25" (25th percentile) -- she is 1 lb heavier and 1/2" taller than Kylar was at the same age! February 23, 2008 - Kenzi's birth day
Kenzi @ 3 days
February 21, 2009 - One Year Old! (well, almost) The theme was pink and green ladybugs. We decorated with ladybugs of course and also flowers.
We ended up ordering the cake from Albertson's and it turned out perfect. It was delicious too!
Opening presents but Kenzi wasn't real interested...
...she was just happy climbing on the boxes.

She had the biggest smile on her face when everybody was singing Happy Birthday. She kept looking around at everyone just grinning and thinking to herself, "All this for me?".

In her high chair...ready to eat! Not quite sure what to think...

...but big sister Kylar was there to show her what to do. Digging in!

Yummy in my tummy! But unfortunately it was achey in her tummy later.
She made quite a big dent for a one-year old!
All cleaned up and ready to play with her new toys.
This party guest is pooped!

Christmas - Part 2

On the 24th, we headed down to Richmond to visit Grammy and Grandpa (Adam's parents). We made the trip in just under 4 hours with no stops!

We spent Christmas Eve with Mike's side of the family at Aunt Wanda's house. Kylar provided the entertainment with her singing and dancing.

Delivering presents....
Last year Kylar got a kid digital camera for Christmas. She took pictures all the time but the pictures were poor quality. So this year we got her a real digital camera and she loves it. Santa even got her a purple Hannah Montana case to match!
Santa brought Kylar a pink bike....just what she asked him for!
And Santa brought Kenzi a "bike" too. As you can see, she loved it! Kylar took Kenzi on a ride since Kenzi's not quite big enough yet to scoot on her own.
Kylar taking pictures -- she took about 50-60 pictures on Christmas Day. Good thing we got her a 1 GB card!
And Santa didn't forget about Acey....he brought him a new rope toy in addition to a new ball and some treats.

We spent Christmas Day at Grandma Sliva's house with all of Debby's family. Kylar had so much fun playing with everybody. She even did makeovers on Mason, Spencer, and Grandpa....they were all such good sports!

Great Grandma Sliva with her three great grandchildren -- Logan, Kenzi, and Kylar.

Christmas - Part 1

Kenzi and Kylar in their matching Christmas dresses and bows -- they were so precious!!
This holiday season has been very busy! We started it off with a visit from Ma and Poppop (my grandparents). They drove in from El Paso and spent a few days here. Kylar had a fun time with them and she loved all Ma's cool Christmas gear. Aunt Bobbe and Uncle Kenny also visited and Kylar performedall her Christmas program songs for everybody (Here Comes Santa Claus, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Feliz Navidad, and Jingle Bells). She definitely isn't shy! Stay tuned...video to come!
Waiting to watch the playback of her performance...
On Tuesday the 23rd we celebrated Christmas with Nanny and Pappy (my parents). Kylar opened everybody's presents for them. Kenzi was more interested in the paper and the boxes than the actual gifts. She did love her doll stroller/walker. She was able to walk with it and she really thought she was big stuff!
Kenzi loves remotes so big sister got her a remote of her very own! Kylar had so much fun going to Target and picking out a present for her baby.
And little sis got Kylar some Color Wonder Watercolors paints.
Kenzi got a chair with her name on it just like Kylar's! She thought it was so cool!
And Nanny got Kylar and baby Allie some new pajamas from American Girl. As you can tell, she was so excited. I just love the look on her face....priceless!

Thanksgiving

I can't believe it's already the end of 2008...the year flew by! A new addition to our family, a new job, and many new adventures made for a great year!
We spent Thanksgiving with my side of the family. Jason and Jen drove down from Colorado with their kids (Baloo - a Great Dane puppy and their cats - Ernie and Olive). My Grandma, Aunt Denise, Aunt Karen, and cousin Caroline also came down from Oklahoma. It was a lot of fun...especially for Kylar! A Christmas book from GG (Great Grandma). Kylar kept Uncle Jason and Aunt Jen quite busy. I'm sure they were worn out by the time they left. The new game this visit was hide and seek.

And Kenzi had fun with Jason and Jen too. Last time they saw her she was just home from NICU and only six pounds. And at Thanksgiving (9 months old), she was 17 1/2 pounds.... quite a change!Dr. Kylar in her vet gear (from Aunt Jen of course). She loves playing pretend so this was perfect!

Baloo at 4 1/2 months and 75 lbs.
